Here is an idea for a new rule that I lifted off the wg14 mailing list:

I might even worth considering to restrict the use of atomic
variables to a single access per statement. If you have multiple
atomic variables involved one could think that all accesses
are done simultaneously in atomic way. While it is easy to
specify that this is not meant, this could actually be an
interesting future language direction.

In other news, I won't be able to attend any meetings for the rest of the
